12/16 – 2nd Annual Cleveland Tuba Christmas; 7:30pm, Pangle

Monday, Dec. 16 (Pangle Hall)
-5pm Registration
-6pm Rehearsal
-7:30pm Performance
On Monday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m., Lee University will host the second annual Cleveland TUBACHRISTMAS in Pangle Hall on Lee’s campus. Members of the community, as well as middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students are invited to participate.
“We will bring together tuba and euphonium players of all ages to spread the Christmas spirit.” said Dr. Jesse McConnell, director and coordinator of the concert and instructor of tuba and euphonium at Lee. “TUBACHRISTMAS offers a wonderful opportunity for tuba and euphonium education and fellowship, concluding with a fun and unique Christmas concert for all to enjoy!”
The program will feature traditional Christmas music arranged by Alec Wilder, including songs such as “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Deck the Halls,” “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” “Jingle Bells,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
For those wishing to perform in the concert, registration will take place on Dec. 16, from 5-6 p.m. in the Pangle Hall lobby, with rehearsal from 6-7 p.m. Participants will pay a $10 registration fee and a $20 fee for the music, which will be theirs to keep after the concert.
All performers are asked to bring their own instruments and dress in bright, festive colors. Those who have previously participated in a TUBACHRISTMAS performance are encouraged to bring their music book from that experience to avoid purchasing a new one.
